Additional Add-on Ratings
For All Courses:
The hours listed are the starting point and the minimum required by federal law.
More hours may be needed to gain the required proficiency the maneuvers listed
for the practical test standards. Actual hours flown will vary from student to
student.
For All Students:
Any previous flight training you have received will be used toward your
helicopter rating:
In the case of fixed-wing training, your logged flight hours are applied to the
FAA standard minimum hours in a powered aircraft. The FAA standard
minimum hours for rotorcraft must still be met before you can take the practical
test.
In the case of previous helicopter training, any logged flight hours will count
towards the FAA standard minimum hours in helicopters. However,
any student enrolling with Eagle Aviation Academy who has previous helicopter
training must be evaluated by our Chief Pilot to determine the student’s level
of competency in basic and/or advanced skills. The FAA minimum hours must still
be met before a student can take the practical test. Hours not
properly
documented cannot be counted toward FAA minimums.
Student Eligibility
eagle Aviation Academy will not discriminate based on race, sex, religion,
ethnic origin or disability. Eagle Aviation Academy, LLC reserves the right to
deny access to any aircraft and/or training if we feel there is a threat to the
community if such access is granted. Federal law requires us to report any
suspicious persons or activities to the
FBI.
Prospective
US Citizen students must submit or obtain the following:
• Current drivers license
• Current Passport or a copy of Birth Certificate
• Any Federal Aviation Administration issued ratings
• Completed student packet
• FAA Medical certificate
Additionally, foreign-born students must submit for TSA approval. TSA approval
may be obtained at www.flightschoolcandidates.gov.
Student progression from skill to skill with no significant delays or problems
is expected. All students are encouraged but not required to fly at least 2
times per week to continue in the program. The progress of each student
depends on the of time they commit to training at Eagle Aviation Academy and to
home study. Since licensing is skill-and-knowledge based, students must
demonstrate to their instructor a mastery of the measurable skills to progress
through the phases of training. Our Certified Flight Instructors monitor and
gauge the progress of the students based on their performance in the aircraft
and during ground school sessions.
Once a certain level of proficiency is reached, students must demonstrate their
skills to another CFI before a phase check is conducted. During this flight, the
CFI will determine if the student is
ready for more advanced maneuvers.
Students achieving solo flight status are nevertheless required to schedule
periodic flights with an instructor to ensure their performance is progressing.
The final evaluation of the student is done by an independent FAA Designated
Examiner, when they have satisfied all the Federal Aviation Administration
Requirements necessary for their certification.
Students are expected to abide by all the Federal Aviation Administration rules
and regulations. Any operations conducted within controlled airspace will abide
by instructions from the tower. In uncontrolled airspace, the student is
expected to follow the operational policies outlined by Eagle Aviation Academy,
LLC.
Any violation of these rules will result in a suspension of the student’s
flight privileges. If a suspension of the student’s flight privileges occurs due
to a violation of FAA rules or our operational policies, a review of the
student’s prohibited behavior and past flight record will be undertaken by the
Eagle Aviation Academy's instructors. Any violation of federal regulations will
be reported.
In addition, frequent cancellations, sustained failure to progress, and
insufficient caution with the aircraft or other equipment will result in a
review by the Eagle Aviation Academy's instructors to see if dismissal or a
probationary period is indicated.
Schedule Procedures and Flight
Guidelines
Eagle Aviation Academy, LLC is open 7 days a week for flight training. Flights
can be scheduled any time of day or night to accommodate a variety of work
schedules. Full-time students can expect to fly up to twice a day if the weather
permits. Ground
school sessions can be scheduled around flights or work schedules.
Students receive instruction on a one-to-one basis, and are not part of a class,
though ground school may be taught to more than one student at a time if all the
students present are at the same proficiency level. Students’ start and end
dates are entirely dependent upon their progress through the course of study and
their proficiency with the aircraft.
Cancellation Policy
Eagle Aviation Academy is committed to the safety of our students,
pilots and aircraft. Therefore, scheduled flights WILL be
cancelled if any of the following weather conditions occur:
-
Sustained winds of 20 kts or more for dual flights.
-
Sustained winds of 15 kts or more for solo flights.

In addition, there will be no autorotation training when the air temperature
reaches 90 degrees or higher or when density altitude reaches 3,000 feet.
If it becomes necessary for a student to cancel a scheduled flight, it may be
done up to two hours before the scheduled flight time. Any flights cancelled by
the
student
within two hours will be subject to a cancellation fee.
